Cardiovascular rehabilitation helps you rebuild strength, fitness and confidence after a heart or vascular procedure, or when a cardiovascular condition limits your daily function. The programme is matched to your medical information, starting level and goals.
Who it's for
- People recovering after heart or vascular surgery
- People who have lost fitness or strength because of a cardiovascular problem
- Patients who want to carry out daily activities with more confidence again
- People who, after medical clearance, want to become more active again
How we work
- An intake with attention to your medical history and the guidance of your doctor or hospital
- A safe baseline of what you can currently load
- A progressive build-up of fitness, strength and functional movement
- Follow-up of how you respond to effort, and regular adjustment
What to expect
A carefully built programme with clear limits and achievable steps. With new or unexplained symptoms we stop the training and advise appropriate medical follow-up.
Practical
Duration
Each session lasts about 30 minutes, including administration and changing. Extra time to practise on your own is possible when it fits your programme. Coaching is with a physiotherapist experienced in cardiovascular rehabilitation.
