Dry needling

Targeted muscle treatment. An active build-up.

In dry needling the therapist treats targeted trigger points in a muscle with a very thin needle. These are sensitive, tense zones that can go together with pain, stiffness, loss of strength or restricted movement. The technique can temporarily influence muscle tension and comfort in movement. At Sportpraktijk Movenda it is always linked to assessment, movement and exercise therapy.

Who it's for

  • Local muscle pain or a tense feeling
  • Restricted movement in which muscle tissue plays a relevant role
  • Athletes with persistent muscle complaints inside a wider rehabilitation programme
  • People whose active exercises are temporarily held back by muscle tension

How we work

  • We first check whether dry needling is relevant and safe
  • The therapist treats only the muscles that fit the clinical picture
  • You get an explanation of possible temporary sensitivity after the session
  • We follow the treatment with movement and targeted exercises

What to expect

Dry needling is not a standalone solution. It is one possible technique inside an active plan aimed at function, load tolerance and lasting recovery.

Practical
