Taping

Temporary support. Keep moving with a purpose.

Taping can be used preventively or as support with an injury. Depending on the goal, we use tape around a joint, muscle or tendon to guide movement, give feedback, or temporarily give a vulnerable structure extra hold. That can be relevant, for example, with an unstable or injured ankle, shoulder complaints, hallux valgus or a muscle tear. Tape does not replace assessment, training or rehabilitation.

Who it's for

  • Instability or uncertainty around a joint, for example the ankle, knee or shoulder
  • Temporary support during sport or when you start loading again
  • Extra guidance with muscle or tendon complaints
  • Athletes who want to learn how and when tape is used correctly

How we work

  • We first decide which problem the tape should support
  • The skin and possible sensitivities are checked
  • The therapist applies the tape with a purpose and tests the effect in movement
  • You get an explanation of wear time, removal, and signs to watch for

What to expect

Temporary, purposeful support inside a broader plan. When tape has no clear functional benefit, we choose another approach. Looking for professional taping in Hasselt? At Sportpraktijk Movenda your physiotherapist looks at whether taping makes sense in your treatment or sports programme.
